Work History:
District Attorney's Office - 2003 -2007
Tim had the opportunity as a young lawyer to work as an Assistant District Attorney for the well-respected District Attorney, Tim Curry, in Tarrant County. Mr. Curry has been the elected District Attorney for 33 years, the longest running tenure in the State of Texas. Tim established a strong work ethic and quickly earned the respect of Judges, supervisors, colleagues, and the defense bar. He gained the reputation as being tough, but fair. Tim was assigned a wide-range of cases as a Misdemeanor, Juvenile, Felony and Grand Jury attorney. He negotiated and reviewed thousands of criminal cases. Tim has proven courtroom trial experience on both the misdemeanor and felony levels. He formed life-long relationships and trial skills in the District Attorney's Office that he takes with him today.
Legal Experience - 2000 - 2002
After Tim's first year of law school, he had the qualifications to be a law clerk for the prestigious criminal defense law firm of Hinton, Sussman, Bailey, and Davidson in Houston. Tim established his research skills for complex State and Federal litigation cases involving individuals and large corporations.
After his second year, Tim was accepted into a summer internship program at the Dallas County District Attorney's Office in the 265th Judicial District Court. Tim actively learned the criminal justice system first-hand from the perspective of a prosecutor. Tim also spent his winter breaks and the time he was awaiting bar exam results working for the top criminal defense attorneys in Dallas, which included his dad, Kevin Clancy, former Asst. United States Attorney, Jay Ethington, and the former United States Attorney for the Northern District of Texas, James A. Rolfe.
Law School - 1999 - 2002
Tim attended South Texas College of Law, a law school nationally known for their moot court, mock trial, and trial advocacy programs. The law school is the winner of 94 national championships and counting. Tim had the opportunity to take advantage of their mock trial and moot court programs. He also had the honor to study criminal trial advocacy under former Texas Criminal Court of Appeals Justice (the highest criminal court in Texas) and currently the Judge of the 299th Judicial District Court in Austin, the Honorable Charles F. Baird. Tim was taught real life lessons and trial skills from Judge Baird and the top prosecutors and criminal defense attorneys in Houston.
